JBM:
Is there anything funnier than a bald mid 40's man lap dancing
a tranny in a Las Veges casino?
Chandie:
You saw that, too?! Internext can be SO weird. Makes
you wonder what we'll see next year. haha
JBM:
Where are you from and where do you live now?
Chandie:
I was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma but consider
Dallas,Texas (where I’ve spent the most years) “home”.
I’ve lived a very nomadic 33 years, living in 12 different
states and so many different cities that I think I’ve
lost count. I’ve had the good fortune of experiencing
life in Chicago, Denver, Phoenix, Atlanta and so many other
great places, but I’ve been settled in Long Beach for
about a year and a half now and I think that this one just
might stick It was an adjustment moving to California, but
now I can’t imagine ever leaving the coast. I LOVE it
here.
JBM:
How did you get started with the adult online biz?
Chandie:
I started back in 1997 selling a 24/7 live video
feed (Itslive.com) that was, at the time, extremely innovative
and EASY to sell because only 3 or 4 companies offered anything
similar. I think it pushed something like 20 frames a minute
and that was considered pretty high quality back then. We
sold a single feed for over $1000 per month. Times have changed
SO MUCH. Consider me a bit of a jack of all trades. I've learned
a little bit about a lot of things in our industry. I’ve
sold content, hosting, processing…you name it, I’ve
touched on it at some point in the last 8 years. I will say
that for me, affiliate sales are my favorite. Developing the
program and watching the traffic grow is very rewarding to
me.
JBM:
Who are you working for?
Chandie:
Myself, fortunately. :) I came back into the biz
after a couple of years in mainstream just over a year ago.
My partner, Jean Francois (aka Jman) and I formed TalkPorno,
Inc., a sales consulting firm, in the spring of last year
and are currently working with some of the top names in the
biz. We’re are working with Club Jenna, Inc. on development
and promotion of Jenna Jameson’s affiliate program (www.jennacash.com),
affiliate sales for SexSearch (www.sexsearch.com)
and we happily work with Traffic Cash Gold (www.trafficcashgold.com)
on a thing or two. Separately, I lend a hand over at AdultProfitNetwork
(www.adultprofitnetwork.com),
promoting a handful of very unique niche sites. They are,
in my opinion, some of the best niche sites out there.
JBM:
What is the hardest part of your day?
Chandie:
Getting out of bed. I am SO not a morning person.
Lucky for me, Cali sunshine comes through my french doors
at around 6:30, so I get a non-jolting wake up...then I stumble
to the kitchen for the first of about 4 cups of coffee.
JBM:
Can you ask Jenna to make out with me?
And if she agrees can you please film it?
Chandie:
I'm slightly insulted that you would want to make
out with Jenna and I'm stuck holding the camera. WTF, Shok?!
You could have at least included me in the sexual part of
your fantasy. Geesh. Give a girl a complex, won't you?
JBM:
What is your favorite part of working in this industry?
Chandie:
The pace is so "GO GO GO" in our industry.
The constant evolution forces me to continue to learn new
things everyday. Some innovation catches on and tips off a
whole new set of businesses and you have to keep up or risk
being left behind. We’re made to think quickly and time
to market is short. It keeps me on my toes, for sure.
JBM:
What turns you off about this industry?
Chandie:
We have so many big babies in the industry. Fightin'
about this and fightin' about that.
Sometimes I feel like I'm back in high school. Why can't we
all just get along? Happy faces, please. :)
JBM:
Don't you miss hanging out in Dallas?
Chandie:
I miss home SO MUCH!!! But the biz and networking
opportunities, particularly for someone in my position, are
much better out in Cali. I am totally bummed about missing
the St. Patty's Day festivities in the Big D. :(
But I will expect a Lower Greenville bar crawl with the boys
when I get home, ok?
JBM:
Is it hard being a women in this industry?
Chandie:
This question always makes me laugh because I get
asked it so often. I think the assumption goes that it must
be
difficult to maneuver through the "come on's", deal
with the sexual nature of it, etc. The truth of the matter
is that I think it's much more of an advantage than a disadvantage
to be a female in this industry. Often times, I have an immediate
"foot in the door" that alot of guys would have
to work at. Yes, I deal with some silliness...but I take most
of it as flattery and enjoy the fun & flirtatious way
that we all carry on. What a cool thing that I get to work
AND be at a strip bar at the same time. The free lap dances
are an added bonus. You can't beat a deal like that.
P.S. Never doubt the shock value of a woman being able to
say "cock" with out flinching. It's a really party
favorite. hehe
JBM:
Do you do anything mainstream?
Chandie:
Nope. I suppose that seems a bit short-sighted to
some, but my plate is SO full with our current clients that
I don't have much free time to pursue mainstream biz. I give
110% to keep them happy.
Luckily, I am not one to subscribe to the Chicken Little "the
sky is falling!" mentality, so
I am certain that the adult biz (and myself!) will be here
for many years to come.
JBM:
Who do you admire?
Chandie:
This one is sooooo easy. My mother, without hesitation.
She was diagnosed with cancer almost a year ago, yet has maintained
the most optimistic and sunny outlook through everything.
When she lost all of her hair during chemo, she noted that
she was "at least fortunate to not have to spend all
that money on hair care products". I would have been
huddled in a corner bawling my eyes out but she simply went
and bought a (SASSY!) wig and sashayed her pretty self all
over town. I realized then just how amazing she really is.
Today, she is cancer free and sporting her new *pixie*. We
couldn't feel more elated.
JBM:
Take us through a typical day.
Chandie:
My life is so random that I'm not sure a "typical"
day applies to me, but I'll give it a go:
Wake up (yuck! morning) and have my necessary coffee. Kiss
the boyfriend goodbye on his way out the door and the "uh
oh's" coming from my laptop suck me in. Download emails.
Couple of board checks (JBM, of course!) and then I hit my
task list to begin tackling the ever present "to do's".
Affiliates, updates, conference calls and new biz development
take up the majority of my next few hours. I break mid-day
to hit the beach to run stairs. A firm butt at the age of
33 comes with a price and I pay it almost daily. Mid-day seems
to hurt less than morning and the sunshine and ocean air makes
me soooo happy.
Then it's back to the computer until I simply can't type any
more...but that is often only after the sun has set and the
cell phone is blowing up from friends out on the prowl. Off
to the shower and out the door to whatever the evening has
in store. Sushi and socializing is the preferred plan, but
it's sometimes beer and bowling. I usually make it into bed
around the midnight hour, though I've been known to close
the bar on occassion. haha :)
JBM:
Tell us something that no one knows about you.
Chandie:
I was born with webbed feet. My toes were all connected
with flaps of skin in between.
It took 3 surgeries to correct it and make them look normal.
Ironically, after the surgery I couldn't swim nearly as fast
as before. I kinda regret changing it. I love to swim.
Ok. That's total bullshit, but I couldn't think of anything
else.
JBM:
What are your goals in this biz?
Chandie:
Well, I would be lying if I said I wasn't in it for
the money. Making lots of it is motivation enough, but I also
take pride in my work and helping our clients be successful.
Making them look good makes me look good, and that
is just how I like it.
JBM:
Tell us a funny trade show story.
Chandie:
There are SO many that it's hard to choose, for sure.
The time that I was put in charge of time keeping on a late
night (ok. morning!) adventure at the Vegas show in 1999 springs
to mind. I accidentally forgot and made a few in our group
(consisting of myself, RB, J$tyles, Andrea, Grimm, et al)
miss flights. That was one of my finer moments (not!). The
"no clocks in Vegas" thing was to blame, if you
want my take on it. But 8 of us worrying that we were hours
past flight times was a pretty priceless moment. Sad thing
is, I knew for over an hour before I had the guts to tattle
on myself. Those on the inside will know to blame "Morris".
haha
Jonathan's baking skills also linger in memory, but that's
a New Orleans story for another day. Love ya, J! *mwah*
JBM:
Have anything to plug?
Chandie:
You're kidding, right?
Of course I do, darling. It's my living.
Anyone not doing biz with Jenna is silly. Period. If you have
pornstar traffic, it belongs with us. We will take good care
of it. :) www.JennaCash.com
Got granny/tranny/gay/gay military traffic? You know how well
niche sites convert...but ours KILL it. www.adultprofitnetwork.com
And last, but not least, Sexsearch. Dating sites are a REV
BONUS! Easy money, guys! www.sexsearch.com
Until next time.
XOXO

JBM:
Thanks for your time Chandie!
